Who is Shawn Hansen?
First off, the name "Shawn" is properly spelt with a "W." The name, "Hansen" is properly spelt with an "E." Not to say the spelling of my name, "Sean," or, "Chone," isn't the right way to spell my name, it is just not politically correct.
Anyways - Enough with the spelling bee. To fill you in about a little history lesson about myself, I grew up in the same town that Amy Poehler, and Steven Wright did. If you don't know where they grew up, either jump on good old Google, or Wikipedia to find out where they grew up, which will give you the answer of where I grew up.
I am a huge fan of the Boston Red Sox, and Celtics. I am not too big into football, but if the Patriots make it into the playoffs, watch out NFL, because the Superbowl smells like Back Bay. The Bruins winning the 2011 Stanley Cup was incredible.
Anyways (part 2): I developed my first taste of the media industry in 2005 while studying Communications at Dean College in Franklin, MA. I had two sports shows every week (Tuesday/Thursday) where I would talk about sports. The following year, it was a requirement to take journalism at Middlesex Community College, my new school, so I started writing for a newspaper called The Campus Report, which I ended up being Sports Editor for a year and a half.
From there, I wrote for the UMass Lowell Connector for a year, and The Valley Patriot (May 2009-present), Billerica Minuteman (July 2009-Oct. 2010), Tewksbury Advocate (Aug. 2009-present), and the Wilmington Advocate (November 2009-Present). Aside the current newspapers I write for, I have published articles in the Burlington Times Union, Bedford Minuteman, Malden Observer, and the Stoneham Independent. I was supposed to have an article publish in the Chelmsford Independent, but the editor who was filling in for my editor at the time forgot to run the article.
Interesting facts about who I am include sharing the same birthday with Ben Affleck, Kerri Walsh, and myself of coarse. I have the same initials as Shea Matthew Hillenbrand, who played on the Boston Red Sox from 2001-2003.
On Nov. 06, 2011 I interviewed Billy Conigliaro at the 26th annual Greater Boston Sports Collectors Club in Wilmington, MA. After the show, I looked up his stats online even though I knew who he was; I never had the chance to see him play because I wasn't born at the time. Anyways, looking up Conigliaro's stats, I found out that he to was also born on August 15.
